Start with support

A comfortable position begins with stable support, not its supposed difficulty. Notice where weight rests: knees, wrists, feet, pelvis or backrest. If a joint is sensitive, choose an arrangement that spreads the load or add support.

Compare, do not perform

Use levels as signposts. An accessible position usually needs little balance and is easy to adjust. An advanced one may load several areas at once. Settle in slowly instead of seeking maximum range.

  • Free breathing
  • Stable support
  • Comfortable range
  • An easy way to stop

Plan an alternative

Choose a simpler variation in advance. Moving from seated to side-lying, reducing the angle or repositioning a cushion can preserve closeness without turning the moment into a test.
